SS10 Notes: Nov. 23, 2015

REBELLION! Very exciting week. We'll be learning about two rebellions in the Canadian prairies; one in Manitoba, one in Saskatchewan, and both involving an awesome dude named Louis Riel. For homework tomorrow, please read 155-160 and take notes.

 

 

Your project this week is to create a video of a news report as groups of two or three. You'll act as a reporter in front of a camera, updating Canada on the Trial of Louis Riel. In this report you'll describe:

 

1. The recent uprisings in Batoche and Fish Creek - who, what, when, where, why?

2. How these uprisings compared to the Riel Rebellion of 1870 - how are they similar and how are they different?

3. What happened in the trial, and whether you believe Riel is a traitor or not.
