Today, we work on odes! Here is a link to a helpful website on ode structure. A few things to bear in mind:
- an ode is a poem designed to address something in particular; usually an object or a group of objects.
- it has at least three stanzas, which have rhymes.
- the three stanzas have the same rhyme scheme.
- it uses elevated and beautiful language.
For a famous example, go to Ode to a Grecian Urn.
Please note for Friday: The test has been moved to Monday. Friday will be used to catch up on assignments. Interim marks are due on November the 6th, and so I need everyone to hand in all missing and failed assignments.
Second update: The poetry booklet now only needs 5, not 7. Considering haikus are super easy, really that means only one more.
