Eng 12 Notes: Oct. 26, 2015

Ah, les poemes. Your recommended homework is to complete the first four lines of your sonnet.

This week, we'll be having a test on Friday; it will be an in-class compare and contrast essay between two texts, based on the provincial exam. Therefore, the project #7 will be due Thursday. Here are the details:

Project #7 (30):

- Creative poetry compilation. Create a booklet of your own poetry, based on one theme (for example: nature, travel, or relationships). You will write seven poems, using different forms.

- One will be a sonnet, another will be free verse, and another will be a ballad. I recommend others be “pastoral,” “ode,” “lyric” and “haiku," but it's entirely up to you. Be sure to label the form for each one.

- 3 points per poem (1 point for proper form, 1 point for content related to a theme, and 1 point for grammar and word choice)  and 6 points for the sonnet. 6 points for an organized and aesthetically pleasing medium (it can be clean and professional, avant-guarde, or simply beautiful).
