Com 12 / Eng 12 Notes: June 17, 2016

Good afternoon!

Here's what we're up to:

1. I would like to focus on Part D for both Eng 12 and Com 12 exam. Let's talk about some tips.

a. Decide if you're more comfortable with a persuasive or a narrative essay.
b. Begin a brainstorm of topics you think are interesting to discuss. Start with larger topics, like love, family, literature, movies, sports, etc.
c. Within that topic, consider four different examples that would be good to talk about. Try to choose examples that are:

- meaningful to you
- specific and vivid
- show struggle

Here is a list of provincial prompt topics.

2. As a reminder, here are the details for the exams:

a. Com 12

- A description of the parts of the exam
- The rubric for each part
- Student samples for the letter
- Student samples for the poster
- Student samples for Part D

b. Eng 12

- A description of the parts of the exam
- The rubric for each part
- Student samples of Part A
- Student samples of Part C
